Installing VIRL using the vSphere Web Client

The steps required to install VIRL onto a VMware vSphere (ESXi) host using the vSphere Web Client are described and illustrated below.

For ESXi deployments some customization of VIRL may be necessary to accommodate factors such as existing IP subnets, static IP addressing, Internet proxies, and RAMdisks.  However - if VIRL can get an address via DHCP and none of these factors apply you may skip the steps below marked 'Optional'.

Step 1:  Get Started




Step 2:  Download the VIRL OVA




Step 3:  Create the VIRL Network Port-Groups





Step 4:  Deploy the VIRL OVA





Step 5:  Adjust VIRL Virtual Machine Resources (Optional)





Step 6:  Configure Static IP (Optional)





Step 7:  Configure Internet Proxies (Optional)
